ONCE AND FOR ALL

Memory verse: Hebrews 10:10 “ By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all”

A lot of times we have many Christians who are not well informed about what exactly it means to be saved. Many have been taught that salvation is a temporary arrangement. They feel that you can easily lose your salvation. This is usually due to what I call a mixture of the Law of Moses and the gospel of Jesus Christ. So they say things like when you receive Jesus you are saved but to keep your salvation, there are things you must do. So the result is that many believers are always living in fear that their sins or errors or actions could cause them to lose the salvation they received when they believed in Jesus. The truth is this; the salvation we received when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect, eternal and unbreakable one. In the next couple of days, we will be looking at this subject indepthly.

Let us start with the following scriptures. How is a man saved? John 3:16 “ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” now we can see from the above verse that whosoever believe shall not perish but have everlasting or eternal life. Now life there is from the Greek Zoe which is divine life, life as God has it. An interesting word used to qualify that life is the term eternal or everlasting. It shows us the time frame wherewith the receiver of Christ possesses the life for and we are told he possesses the life eternally. The word eternal or everlasting is the Greek “aionos” which means time without end. The believer in Christ possesses Zoe eternally forever and ever. Hebrews 10:14 “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified” why is it that the person who receives Christ receives life forever? Well this is because as we read in the above scripture, Jesus Christ has offered the perfect offering for sins. All of the demand of God’s justice concerning man’s sins has been met by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Therefore, God the father no longer holds any man’s sins against him, because Jesus Christ paid it all by the offering of himself.

2 Corinthians 5: 19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation”  he no longer holds our sins against us, in fact the word of God declares that he no longer remembers our sins. Hebrews 10:17 “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” all sins past, present and future has been paid for and wiped out by the blood of Jesus Christ once and for all.

CONFESSION: I am eternally saved, forever forgiven. My sins has been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ and sin consciousness has been taken away from me. I am now a son of God. Amen
