BEWARE OF EVIL COMMUNICATION

Memory verse: 1 Corinthians 15:33 “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”

There are different types of influences in this world. Some are good, some are evil. With the advent of social media, the internet and films we have that are minds are easily quickly exposed to evil thoughts, evil mindsets, and sinful characterizations. Satan in his craftiness and through the unsaved has flooded media platforms with obscenity, last and immorality such that day to day, our minds are assaulted by corrupt visual images. Evil communication is not limited to that by also to friends, associates, relationship in which we are not encouraged or inspired to glorify God.

It is wisdom to steer clear or any person, organization, platform that continually encourages or illustrates immoral behavior. Whatever you allow through the gates of your eyes, your ear will eventually enter into your mind and when it enters into your mind, you will find yourself desiring the things that you have seen and heard. This is how lust enters into a Christian man’s heart. Remember the bible says “as iron sharpens iron, so does a man the countenance of his friend” Proverbs 27:17.

You can never rise above the level of the influence of the people around you or the platform you expose yourself to. God in his wisdom often causes our lives to change for the better by bringing people our way so also the devil will always want to make our lives worse by bringing people our way. We must by wisdom discern who should be close to us and who shouldn’t be. James 1:21 “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”

It is wisdom to lay apart evil communication so that the word of God we have received can grow in influence in our spirit, soul and body.

CONFESSION: I choose my associates wisely; I refrain from bad and evil communication. I walk with the wise.  I walk with those who fear the Lord. Amen
