CONCERNING SPIRITUALS

Memory verse: 1 Corinthians 12:1 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”

The child of God is the temple of the Holy Spirit and it is very important that as believers we understand how the things of the spirit works and how they are administered. It is important for the believer to know that the things of the Spirit should be familiar to him. Looking at the Christian world currently, it seems as though there’s a scarcity of the demonstration of the gifts of the Spirit in the church today, this is because there isn’t enough teaching on it. The things of the Spirit can be taught and can be learnt.

First, the word spiritual is taken from the Greek “pneumatikos” which means things that be and pertain to the realm of the Spirit. Now the believer is born of the Spirit of God, born of the nature, power and character of the Spirit so the realm of the Spirit is his realm. He’s not a stranger to it. He however must be taught how to function in that realm. The realm of the spirit is a very real, tangible realm. There are things to see, things to do and things to hear in the realm of the Holy Ghost.

It is important to note that as a believer you have been equipped with all the faculties to function effectively in the things of the Spirit. It must be very clear to us that this teaching is not particularly about the gifts of the Holy Spirit but about all things spiritual whether it be the Father, the Son, the Spirit, the Born Again Spirit, Angels, Demons etc. We are not disadvantaged as believers as we have what we need in Christ to function effectively in the realm of the Holy Ghost. You were born to function at a realm where all things are possible, you were created to see and function from the realm of the unseen, do not settle for anything less.

CONFESSION: I am born of the Spirit of God, I live and function by the Spirit, I see, hear and do things by the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within me. I am what the word of God says I am.
