GIVE YOURSELF TO TRAINING 2

Memory verse: 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

There are many that do not understand the purpose of the local church and the role the ministry gift is supposed to play in their life. Many feel that their pastor is supposed to be their friend who tiptoes around them and never says anything to hurt them emotionally but as we have said before that the primary reason of the local church is discipleship, to train and raise ministers. You cannot raise and train someone without correction rebuke, instruction. Many come into the local church with a form of arrogance and stubbornness feeling as though no one should or can’t talk to them so when they are corrected as they should be when wrong, they take offence and often do the canal thing of withdrawing fellowship and looking for another church. I want you to know that that behavior is canal and unbecoming of a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You should have the mindset as you come to a church that you are presenting yourself to be trained and that every correction, instruction, reprove is not for your disadvantage but for your advantage. Remember the word of God declares that chastening or correction is for sons. Proverbs 3:11, Hebrews 12:5 “ And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him”

Learn to give yourself to correction and reprove. Realize this that an instruction, correction or reprove is the connection to your next level. Accept correction today.

CONFESSION: I submit to training as a son. I refuse to be offended when I am corrected. I listen to instructions and do not take them lightly. I align myself with the vision of my local church and do not cause division.
