IN HIM REALITIES 4
Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ”
There are several places in scripture where we have terms used to point to our identification with Christ. Let’s examine a few.
“In whom”
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Ephesians 1:14
In him we have forgiveness.
We don’t beg for it. We have it.
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Ephesians 1:11
We have an inheritance in him. All he has, we have.
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit Ephesians 2:21-22
In him we are God’s habitation.
God dwells in us.
God is not in every man. He is only in the man in Christ.
In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. Ephesians 3:12
In him we have boldness.
In him we have access.
We can approach as sons boldly.
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3
In him are present all God’s wisdom and knowledge. That revelation is no longer a mystery to us. Those treasures are in us because we are in him.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Corinthians 2:12
In him we have received!
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses. Colossians 2:12-14
In him the old man is put away.
In him we are quickened from spiritual death and alive to God eternally. In him we are alive to God forever without sin in his sight.
Your identity is revealed in the “in whom”, in Christ, “in him” of scriptures!
Glory to God!
CONFESSION: I am in Him without sin. I am in Him blameless and righteous. In Him, I have received eternal life. I am forgiven. Hallelujah.
