LOVE’S LANGUAGE

Memory Verse 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up”

We’ve talked about love from the standpoint of it being unconditional, how God loves us without conditions and does not deal with us based on how good or bad we’ve been. If God deals with us this way and we are instructed to walk in love, then we must deal with one another that same way. Have you ever been offended by anybody and you responded with vile words? Yes! the individual must have wronged you and done something that is wrong but our response to the actions of people whether they are good or bad must always be seasoned and inundated by God’s love.

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers”

So, we are to be careful about the words that come out of our lips and must ensure that it communicates the kind of love showered on us by God through Jesus Christ. A love that forgives offences even before they are committed, a love that covers a multitude of sins. A love that does not remind people of the mistakes they’ve made in the past. Love always seeks to edify, never to break down or destroy. So with the words coming out of our mouth, we must always seek to build and bless and never to pull down. Always ensure that the words that proceeds out of your mouth communicates love and nothing less.

CONFESSION: I have received the love of Christ: I am born of the love of Christ. I release the love of Christ always through words. I edify, I don’t destroy. Amen
