Speaking Faith

Mark 11:22-24 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.

The believer does not lack faith as we saw in yesterday’s devotional. Faith is an ability unleashed within him the moment he got saved. This faith is a gift of god given to the believer the moment he received Christ. This faith is an instrument of creation, deliverance, power, salvation and transformation.

The faith of God always receives and it is never refused. The faith of God never fails to receive that which he sets out to receive from God. The word of God however teaches us that there is a principle involved in unleashing the divine ability in the faith of God.

In our memory verse Mark 11:22-24 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”. we see that Jesus emphasizes the speaking action, He mentions speaking three times and believing once. This shows us that the root of the faith of God is planted in our heart when we believe the gospel but the fruit of that faith is only enjoyed and experienced by us when we unleash its power by speaking.

This principle is further reiterated in Romans 10:8-10. “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

We believe with the heart but we confess with our mouth. Words are the instruments God uses to bring us into our desired reality. The scripture shows us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. This shows us that we can dispense life through words and dispense death through words. However, because we have the spirit of faith, spirit of life, spirit of power resident in us, we release all that is God in us through Christ through our words. A man’s life cannot rise above the level of his confession because the words of his confession are the invisible but audible building blocks which God is going to use to beautify and decorate a man’s life.

Therefore every believer ought to know all that he has been freely given in Christ so as to vocalize same through his words so as to bring about a manifestation of those things which he says. Your faith is not potent until you release it through words. Be a word talker. Always talk the word. When you talk the word of god all the time, you will do the word of God. A talker or speaker of the word is a doer of the word.

CONFESSION: I give myself to the word of God, I put it before my eyes and I put it before my ears. I let the word of God have dominion in my life. I think the word of God; I meditate on the word of Gd. The word gains ascendancy in my life now and forever.
