The manifestation of the spirit 1
1 Corinthians 12:7 “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit.”
The believer is a supernatural entity. He is not just a regular guy. He is a demonstrator of the spirit and the power of God.
He has been given “the manifestation of the spirit”
What does manifestation mean? It is taken from the Greek “phanerosis” which means “to unveil”. Also notice that it says “the manifestation” not “a manifestation” this implies that all there is about the spirit has been made available to “every man”.
The “every man” refers to the man in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
This unveiling is the unveiling that every man has been given in the new birth. Now what happened when a man gets born again?
He becomes born of the spirit.
John 3:5-6 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
He is born of God
James 1:18 “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”
1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
The manifestation of the spirit has been given to this man born of God. However, whatever has been given must be received.
Every gift of God has been given by God in Christ freely. Christ is a gift already given.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
But all God has given must be received. If it is not received though given it cannot be enjoyed.
Believers are receivers.
Romans 5:17 “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”
Galatians 3:14 “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
So the manifestation has been given to the man in Christ, he now has to receive it all by faith to walk in it fully.
What are the things in this manifestation?
The administrations, the operations, the gifts.
1 Corinthians 12:4 “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues.”
How do we properly receive of this? By not being ignorant of it. There are things of the spirit you can stumble into without being taught but precision and effectiveness in spiritual things are taught so they can be caught.
So Paul goes onto say
1 Corinthians 12:1 “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”
He didn’t want them ignorant or without knowledge about spiritual things.
We have been given the manifestation.
It is time to receive all and walk in all we have been given!
CONFESSION: I have received the manifestation of the Spirit, I am not ignorant concerning the things that be and pertain of the spirit. Amen!
