In the beginning was the word, the word was with God ,the word was God. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
The “word” is from the Greek logos. The logos refers to the logic ,the explanation and the reason of a thing. If you understand the logos then you understand what the logos is speaking about .
Now you must note something important.
It says “in the beginning was the word” it didn’t say in the beginning the word was created. It says “in the beginning was the word”. This means that the logos preexisted the beginning. It means if the logos is eternal then God is eternal. The logos doesn’t change hence God doesn’t change .
Remember the logos refers to the explanation. Hence, The logos of God means the explanation of God!
Now the scriptures declares
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
So the explanation of God who was heard previously and not seen became a human being . He became flesh to speak plainly who He is . He reveals God plainly .
The word become flesh is the clear and complete revelation of who God truly is without any shadow or doubt.
So who is the word become flesh ?? JESUS!
When we look to Jesus we see clearly who God is!
Jesus is God explained! Clearly.
So the opinion of Jesus about an issue
Is the opinion of God about that issue.
What was Jesus response to sin and sinners?
His response to being rejected?
His response to sickness and disease?
His response to the law and Sabbath?
When we study in this light we get sure answers!
CONFESSION: Jesus is the express image of the invisible God. I see God through the light of Jesus Christ. I am able to properly discern who God is.
