WHAT CAN YOU SEE?
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new”
The insight any individual has in God’s word determines his perception. Perception is everything. Our perception of events, circumstances, situations is what separates victors from victims. The word of God helps us to see life as God sees it; to circumstances and situations as God see it. The primary work of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation is to open our eyes to see, perceive what is available to us, what is within our reach in Christ Jesus.
Paul in one of his prayers for the church in Ephesians 1:17-18 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” prays that the eyes of the believer be flooded with light.
Light speaks of knowledge and in the context of this verse of scripture, he was talking about the knowledge of who Christ is and the immerse power in the believer which is the same as the power that raised Christ from the dead. Paul goes on to describe this power as an exceeding great power which in the Greek is Huperballo megethos which means that the power available to the believer in Christ is more than he will ever need to get the job done.
When a Christian comes to the understanding of this truth, his perception changes. He now sees that there is no situation that he cannot change, that there is nothing that looks bad that cannot be turned good by the power of God’s Spirit.
The word of God changes our perception, how we see and what we see. This is why we must give ourselves to the study of God’s word especially the epistles. As we behold the face of Christ in the epistles of the apostles, we clearly how God currently sees us and when we see as He sees and what He sees, we will speak as He speaks. When we speak as He speaks, we will create as He creates.
So believer, what do you see?
CONFESSION: I see with the eyes of the word, I see with the eyes of the Spirit, I chose the report of the word of God over all else. I declare that the word of God is Lord in my life. Amen
