Walking in Love

Memory verse: Galatians 5:6 “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love”

We’ve been talking about faith for a couple of days now. We have emphasized the necessity of knowing who you are in Christ, understanding the tenses in God’s word, differentiating between what God has done and what He will yet do. All these things we’ve shared about and talked about are very important to the faith walk. However, there is omen more ingredient that we must look at. We must examine love. Now, the first revelation of love that we must have is of the love of God towards us.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

Love in this scripture is taken from the Greek “Agape” and it refers to the unconditional love that God has for the whole of mankind. The premise of agape is to show that God loves us independent of what we do or didn’t do. He continually showers us with his blessing, favor, providence through Christ independent of works. This is the first and most important revelation of love every Christian should have which is that God loves him in Christ independent of works. So it is important for us to get clear that God’s love towards us in Christ is steadfast, unchanging and never wavers. There is however another revelation that we must walk in. An absence of this revelation in a believer can actually result in his faith been ineffective.

This revelation has to do with walking in love towards all men. If you’ve asked God for anything in faith and you noticed that there is a delay in manifestation, it is wisdom to check and look inwards. The delay could be caused by failure in your love walk. We must get this clear, God is not withholding the answer because He doesn’t give to us based on what we or don’t do. However, our love actions or inactions towards all men could hinder the physical manifestation of what God had freely given to us in the realm of the spirit.

Faith always works by love. After you’ve asked, believed and confessed the word of God, you must always ensure that you’re walking in love towards all men.

CONFESSION: My faith is effective, I choose to walk in love towards all men, I decide never to condemn any man, never to hold any man guilty in my sight. I forgive freely all who have ever hurt me. I am a love child of a love God
