The manifestation of the spirit 2.

1 Corinthians 12:7 “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal”

The word “given” is the Greek “didomi” it means to bestow a gift on someone or to lavishly supply or furnish.

To understand the nature of the gift of the spirit we must understand the nature of the gift of Christ.

God didn’t come to give us the spirit primarily. He came to give Christ. Christ is the gift of God. The Holy Ghost is the gift of Christ.

Romans 5:15 “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

He is the grace, he is the gift of God to humanity.

However, the gift of Christ is the Holy Ghost whom he has given to all who receive him.

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

The gift of the Holy Ghost is given to the man who has received Christ by believing on him.

Acts 2:32 “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”

So the Holy Ghost isn’t the message of the scriptures. Christ is the message. The Holy Ghost comes to make Jesus a reality to us.

John 16:11-13 “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

Now the gift of God and the gift of Christ are all received the same way, free of charge and by faith!

The moment we receive Christ, we have been given the Holy Ghost and all he represents to be received and walked in by us.

So what are the “things” in this manifestation of the spirit to the believer?

They are the gifts, the ministry or administration and the operations.

They are in that one Manifestation.

The moment a man receives the gift of God that is Christ, he is given all that comes with that gift.

However, the moment he becomes aware of what he has already been given in Christ then he begins to enjoy and walk in them.

So declare with me.

I have the gift of God.

I have the gift of Christ.

I have the life of God which is the spirit of God.

I walk in all he has given me in the name of Jesus!

CONFESSION: I have the gift of God! I have the gift of the Spirit! I function fully in the gift of the Spirit. Hallelujah!
