CHRIST -THE IMAGE OF GOD.
John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men”.
Any understanding of scriptures outside the revelation of Jesus is error. All things written are written to reveal him. The bible is a christo-centric document.
When we read it through the eyes of Christ, All shadows disappear.
In the beginning was the word (logos). What is logos? Logos doesn’t mean written word. It means the reason, the explanation, the logic. This means that the explanation and logic of God and scriptures is JESUS.
If I say you should guess the progression of these numbers 2,5,8,11……….first you will need to figure out the logos of this progression. From studying it, you will see that it is 3. Therefore, the next numbers in the progression would be 14, 17, 20 etc. How did we figure that out? By understanding the logic!
To understand Jesus is to understand God.
He is the image of God.
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them”. 2 Corinthians 4:4
“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature”. Colossians 1:15
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high Heb 1:1-3
Jesus is the father revealed. He is the clear demonstration of who the father is. He shows us that the father is love because when we see Jesus all we see is LOVE.
We see that the father wants all men to come to him because in Jesus we see him drawing all to him.
There is no God revealed outside of Jesus. Jesus is all God was, all God is and all He will ever be.
He is the logic and eternal explanation of God!
