LOOK IN THE MIRROR

2 Corinthians 3: 16-18 “Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The word is a physical place. Everything in the world, everything on earth exist in the physical dimension therefore we tend to see that most people react to occurrences, life challenges and issues on the earth with respect to the physical dimension. But the truth is everything you can see with your eyes was created in time and if it was created in time, it means it is temporal and not eternal. Time is a creation of God, so everything we see in the realm of time is subject to change. If it is subject to change, it means that physical things don’t last forever therefore everything we are conscious of in the earth plane cannot be considered to be absolute reality.

Jesus in John 14:6 says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. He calls himself the truth. Now truth is from the Greek “alitea” which means reality, the way things actually are. We must learn to differentiate between fact and truth. Fact refers to how we see things with our natural eyes in our natural world; truth refers to how things actually are.

In John 8: 12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”. Jesus says that He is the light of the world. That means He is the true light by which we should examine all that occurs in our physical space and life. This brings us to our message of today. What is your identity as a Christian? Is the knowledge of your identity coming from the natural fact around you such as tribe, family history, genetic diseases, and economic abilities or does it come from the truth of God’s word? The word of God is a mirror. What does a mirror do? A mirror reflects to us who we really are. When we look into the word of God, we are able to observe through the light of Christ who we really are in Him

So we see that we are righteous 1 Corinthians 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption”.

We see that we are seated with him Ephesians 2:6-8. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

This is your true self. This is who you really are. So look into the mirror of God’s word, keep looking and never forget what you see.

CONFESSION: I am a new creation; I have the life of God in me. I have the spirit of God in me. I have the light of God in make. Jesus is the light by which I see. Amen
