When God leads, he leads not in the senses (body) but with the spirit of the man born again.

I earlier stated that to know the leading of the spirit you must tone down the voice of your mind and of your body.

How do you tone down the voice of the body?

One good way is by fasting. Fasting is a very good exercise effective in quieting your body and putting it under the control of your spirit.

This will include abstaining from food, sex, entertainment and even interaction with humans for a period of time.

A fast must be properly done to be effective!

What of the mind??

Fill your mind with scriptures.

As you meditate on scriptures you program your mind to think in terms of God’s logic rather than human logic.

The scriptures must rule your mind!
Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Now the body is quiet through fasting.

Your mind is aligned to your spirit through the word.

What’s left?

Increase the activity of your spirit.

How?

1 Corinthians 14:4 “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.”

To edify means to charge like a battery, to build one’s self.

As you talk in tongues you are causing your spirit man to gain the ascendancy over your being such that you can know exactly what the leading is. The result of this exercise may be a prophecy in the form of a word of wisdom (a word of wisdom is a supernatural revelation about the future), it may be an inward voice or you will just have peace within you about the decision you are about to make or you have an uneasiness within you.

It is important to note that God will most likely lead you supernaturally rather than spectacularly!

He will lead you through the witness within you that is provided by the spirit within you.

He may also lead you by visions ,the audible voice but primarily by the inward witness.

So what is the inward witness?

CONFESSION: I am led of God! He leads me primarily through the inward witness. I yield to the leading of His Spirit. Amen!
